Poem of the Week – where is god?

Bless you dear friends and thank you for taking your time to pass by. I appreciate and value your love and support. Have a beautiful day!

where is god?

The weekly poem or prayer is offered to stimulate thought and to uplift and remind you of the sacredness of life. If you have a poem or favourite prayer you wish to share with our community, I’d be pleased to feature it in future posts. Simply send it to me. Thank you.

As mentioned in my recent post sometimes I struggle to sit and meditate as the pain inside is too deep.

Today’s poem, “where is god?” reflects what happens when I allow myself to breathe, meditate and connect with this pain. Read more…?

Happy Valentines Day- Don’t Worry Be Happy

Blessings and welcome to your relaxing yogi space on the web. Thanks for visiting and I wish you a life of bliss and romance. Click on the video and jig along to Bobby McFerrin jolly song.

On this day of Love, I would like to take a mini break from our current series of looking at how yoga helps detox and cleanse your body and share a little bit about my relationship with food and my body.

My Food Story

It freaks me out when people say “oh, its OK for you, you’re a yoga teacher, of course you are calm, eat well and exercise.”

No way. And as for being calm all the time…my daughters will gladly tell you otherwise:) Read more…?

Prayer of the Week – Prayer of Thanks

Bless you Gentle Reader and welcome to this week’s Prayer of the Week. I pray you are well and spirit lighting your life. Take a few moments, to pause, breathe deeply, lower your shoulders and lengthen your spine as you read this week’s poem. Its a short prayer, which I wrote this morning after meditating.

Giving Thanks

The last few weeks I have recommitted on a much deeper level to my daily spiritual practice and as such I am spending more time alone, in prayer and silence. Read more…?

Prayer of the Week-Prayer For Excellence

Yoga Inspires Prayer of the Week
A short prayer to uplift, inspire and rejuvenate your soul.

Blessed Selves, thank you so much for allowing me to be part of your daily life, I wish you and your family an excellent weekend.

Breathe in...and slowly exhale

This morning after meditation, I felt so grateful and abundant. I sat in my space for an extra few minutes allowing the waves of gratitude to flow through. It was a precious moment and reminded me how easy it is for us to lose touch with our Creator and drift in the world according to any ole whim.

In that vein, I was inspired to pen these few words which I would like to share with you.

Prayer of Excellence

Dear Father God, thank you for your presence in my life, for being with me, walking beside me and holding my hand. Help me to grow, to be the best I came to be, help me to shine, to radiate joy, to trust and know ALL is Thine.

Hold my hand as I take the next step, strive to reach the higher ground and leave my ego aside.

Dear Creative Spirit, guide my thoughts so that I can hold my peace and give you space to say your piece. Encourage me to see the beauty, the wonder and majesty of people I don’t take to, through your eyes, not mine, which are clouded with dirt, dust and inner city crime.

Help me to shine and guide me back to centre when I threaten to stand in my way and shove you aside-especially when your way is “too slow and time-consuming for busy ole me”. Help me to stand firm and bathe in the grace and beauty of your divine hand as I stretch, breathe and be.

With love, thanks and praises

Prayer For Peace

Happy Christmas and Seasonal Blessings to you and your family. This is my last post for 2011. I wish you a healthy, restful and gentle introduction into 2012.

peace begins within

As this is my last post for 2011, I wish to share with you a prayer. I wrote Prayer For Peace, following the bombing of the World Trade Centre, New York, USA on 11th September 2001.

Like most of you I was shocked, hurt and dismayed by the tragedy and wrote this prayer as my way to heal and comfort. Peace has to begin within, and as we strive towards that happy medium, regardless of your political views, please take a moment to pause, reflect and offer a sign of peace to your neighbour.

Thank you.

Prayer For Peace

We are all born with gifts to offer, gifts to heal ourselves, our families, our communities. Let us use our skills, gifts, talents and abilities for world unity and prosperity

Let us pray for universal peace, justice and understanding;

let us pray that the leaders of our communities speak words of peace, forgiveness, honesty and integrity;

let us pray that those who are suffering find comfort and, in time peace;

let us hold each other, stand together and celebrate our uniqueness and divinity;

let all people of the world see the beauty of their Creator reflected in the eyes of those they fear and mistrust;

let all nations strive for healthy union with one another; let the cry of the injured, hurt and maimed bodies of those who grieve feel the warm embrace of the power of their Creators’ grace and beauty;

let us all take responsibility to work together to cultivate the Spirit of Universal Kindness, Peace and Tranquillity;

as we awake and create a brighter today, let our hearts be open, our spirits strong our minds focused on sowing seeds for a safer, secure and harmonious future for our children’s children’s;

through the power of love let us heal our broken hearts, mend our fragmented bodies and give comfort to the shattered minds and souls to all we know;

let us offer a sign of peace to all we meet today.

As a people we are strong; may the rays of love, light and beauty, heal strengthen, guide and protect us ALL.

And may the peace everlasting be with you and all those dear to your heart.

I wish you a safe, happy and peaceful day.

Namaste

Why WeBlogBetter Should Chose Me

Reaching New Heights

Blessed Reader, kindly excuse this slightly “off topic” blog post.

Like all good yogis I have decided it’s time to let go off my attachments to safety and comfort and expand my horizons and see what is on the other side.

In this case, the other side is a blogging Contest.

Yep. A Blogging Contest.

In pursuit of fulfilling my life purpose I am spreading my wings and am entering my first ever Blogging Challenge. Read more…?

Working Mums-Do You Ever Have Bad Thoughts?

Life is full of challenges and as a busy mum you have you fair share of ups and downs and daily upsets to deal with. In today’s blog I would like to give you an overview of the yogic view about bad thoughts.

Everyone Gets Upset

Worrying Times

Hands up if you have ever shouted and yelled at your kids or had a fall-out with your best friend.

How do you feel when hear the words – “Go away!” “Leave me alone.” “I hate you.” or “If you really cared about me you wouldn’t say that”…. Read more…?

If I Were In Charge Of The World

Good morning and bless you. I wish you peace.

This morning, guided by my inner muse I scanned through my Twitter feed and clicked through on a tweet by Jackie Walker (@jackiewalker)

Memorised I read the tweet, clicked through to the recommended link and magic happened. I read a poem, a creative piece of magic by Joanna Paterson “If I Were In Charge Of The World” (http://bit.ly/fo9HUi)

At the end of her piece, Joanna suggested we set the timer for 7 minutes and using the prompt “If I were in charge of the world” write what we would do.

Here is my two pence worth of seven minutes.

If I Were In Charge Of The World

If I were in charge of the world I would fly through the hearts of our elected and unelected leaders.

I would wash their mouths out, sprinkle fairy dust and shadows of light through the crevices of their heart. Read more…?
